Acetate
is a textile that is made with deconstructed wood pulp, which is known
as cellulose. After the cellulose is reacted with acids and other
chemicals, acetate is produced.
*Why would you want to root your doll with acetate? Well, put simply, it's beautiful stuff.
*Acetate
feels more "natural", more organic, and less artificial than other
synthetic hair types. Truly, the best comparison that I can give you is
that it feels like the hair of a persian cat.
*I don't know of
any dolls/toys that were ever factory rooted with acetate hair, but
that doesn't mean that there weren't any, so if, up until now, you'd
been searching for a particular match for a particular doll, your
search may be over. You can't buy acetate doll hair anywhere in the u.k than Retrodolls
Acetate's tensile strength is probably the
weakest of all synthetic doll hair types, so you don't want to apply
too much tension to it while you're rerooting your doll, or you can get
a little breakage. It's nothing to worry about, though, especially if
you're not a first-time rerooter. You can compare the strength of one
strand of acetate to the strength of one human hair. It's pretty much
the same. I wouldn't say that acetate should only be reserved for very
experienced re-rooters.
I know that you probably aren't familiar
with acetate, above this text is a photo of a Barbie doll who is rooted
with acetate in the color "golden honey", so you can get an idea of
what to expect. It's very lovely hair, and I'm sure that you'll love it:
Each hank is 38" long
Acetate is not included with our re-rooting kit.
Sorry this hair is not included in the hair 10 and 20 pack special offer.
