As we all know, farmers are innovators and Marvin maybe just a touch more extreme than the rest. A passion for team roping and cowboy culture has played an important role in the invention of Sparky Roping Machines.

With the support of his wife, Kathy, Marvin set out to build the first ever mechanical roping steer in the fall of 1996. Sitting in the families tin shop among tractors and other farm implements, Marvin began drawing and contructiong the first prototype. Many winter nights were spent next to the propane heater refining the previous nights accomplishments. The first Sparky was completed and tested within a years time. The results of the testing were not as good as he had expected. It was back to the drawing board for some fine tuning in the fall of 1997. The reborn superior Sparky was introduced at Christmas time in 1997.

Marvin has since refined Sparky three times and the results are phenomenal!
